The L Word

The L Word is a drama tv series that portrays the lives of a group of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women and men and their friends, family and lovers in the trendy Los Angeles-area city of West Hollywood.

The pilot episode premiered on January 18, 2004. The sixth and final season is to premiere on February 22, 2009. Outside the US, the series is distributed by MGM Worldwide Television. The show was created and is executive-produced by Ilene. Other executive producers include Steve and Larry Kennar. Besides Chaiken, writers of the show have included Guinevere Turner and Rose Troche.

The episodes focused on the relationships between the principal characters, their family members, their friends, and their "outside" lovers. Jennifer Beals played the role as Bette Porter, an art museum director and unabashed control freak, who in the first season lived with her longtime partner Tina Kennard (Laurel Holloman), who chose to stay at home and assume the "housewife" role. And after being artificially inseminated, were both wife and mother in the relationship. Ultimately, Bette and Tina broke up over Bette's infidelity. The series' "audience-identification" character was Jenny Schecter, a talented writer who had moved next door to Bette and Tina to live with her fiancé, and later husband, Tim Haspel (Eric Mabius).

Unavoidably drawn into her neighbors' circle of lesbian friends, Jenny gradually came out of the closet herself, having a torrid affair with sexy coffee shop owner Marina Ferrer (Karina Lombard), breaking up with Tim, and entering into a series of not-altogether-satisfying affairs, and all the while trying to emerge from the shadow of a spectacularly miserable childhood. The "comedian" of the bunch was Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey), a glib-tongued bisexual journalist who had a habit of speaking first and thinking second. Also in the cast were Katherine Moening as Shane McCutcheon, a troubled promiscuous hairdresser. Erin Daniels as Dana Fairbanks, a professional tennis player who struggled with whether to stay in the closet professionally and whose insecurities made it hard for her to find a girlfriend; and Pam Grier as the only certified "straight" member of the group, Bette's older half sister and formerly successful singer, Kit Porter.

The cast in the second season included sexy deejay Carmen de la Pica Morales (Sarah Shahi), who at one point carried on simultaneous affairs with Jenny and Shane; wealthy Helena Peabody (Rachel Shelley), daughter of an influential female art collector; and documentary and adult filmmaker Mark Wayland (Eric Lively), who became Shane and Jenny's housemate.

How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM)

How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) is a CBS sitcom premiered on September 19, 2005. Created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the show received generally positive reviews. TV Guide gave it the "Editor's Choice" honor in its Fall Preview Issue. Thomas and Bays drew from their friendship in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife.

Dubbed "A love story in reverse," the show is structured as the main character, Ted, in the year 2030 telling his son and daughter about the events that led to his meeting their mother, which begin in 2005. The show frequently explores the concepts of stories and storytelling usually with multiple flashbacks occurring each episode. Seeing the show in non-chronological order often results in the viewer seeing something happen and then finding out later the events that caused it. This effect has been dubbed "deep frying" the story, a reference to the show's director, Pamela Fryman. This structure necessitates many more scenes than the average sitcom; therefore the show is not filmed before a live studio audience despite being shot in the traditional sitcom format. Laughter is not recorded until the episode is shown to an audience after it has been completely edited together.

How I Met Your Mother has been renewed for a third season and premiered last September 24, 2007. The show has moved back to its old time slot, 8ET / 7CT.

Enchanted

One of the most enjoying comedy romantic fantasy film I've watched was the movie, Enchanted. From the creation of Walt Disney Pictures, brought a classic animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy written by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

The casts of the movie are Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Idina Menzel, Timothy Spall, Rachel Covey and Susan Sarandon. The film was well-received critically and has garnered two nominations at the 65th Golden Globe Awards and bagged three nominations at the 80th Academy Awards.

Princess Giselle lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. She dreams of her true love and builds a statue wearing a blue jacket to represent him from her dream with the help of her chipmunk friend Pip and other forest animals. She sings about her true love's kiss and Prince Edward, a handsome and valiant but dim witted prince, hears her voice in the forest and rescues her from a troll. Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to Prince Edward. Her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer, Robert Philip whose kind compassion has to helped her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.
